Educational programs for underserved communities

School Programs

Play-Well Outreach provides in-school programs through our Building Education Project. We focus on accomplishing the following goals:

  • Design a building curriculum that complements what teachers are currently teaching their students.
  • Challenge students to solve hands-on engineering problems utilizing the math and science skills they are learning in the classroom.
  • Help answer the question "Why should students care about math and science?"
  • ntroduce students at an early age to engineering & architecture, so that those students may consider those areas of study as a viable career path in the future.

The Building Education Project provides design and building experiences for K-8 students by fostering development of critical thinking and problem solving skills, in coordination with the goals and objectives of the school. LEGO is an effective tool to enhance the study of a wide range of subjects: engineering, science, history, social studies, art, drama, and literature. alignment with state and national education standards is currently underway.

These programs have been test-piloted in 4 separate states around the country
